Why hadn’t we discovered these wines before?

The Dalmatian Grand Cru Collective began with our first visit to Croatia.

We arrived expecting a beautiful country. What we didn’t expect was to discover a wine culture that completely captured our attention.

We tasted distinctive indigenous grape varieties. We discovered vineyards growing from dramatic stone-covered hillsides overlooking the Adriatic. We met wines with history, character and an unmistakable sense of place.

And we kept asking ourselves the same question:

Why had we never heard of many of these wines back home in the United States?

That question became the beginning of The Dalmatian Grand Cru Collective.
